# Tiny Desk AI Independent AI video maker for the viral "Outstanding" Tiny Desk meme at https://tiny-desk-ai.app. Not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by NPR, NPR Music's Tiny Desk Concerts, Charlie Wilson or The Gap Band; "Tiny Desk AI" describes the meme people search for. English is the default; full public pages, the order flow and delivery emails are also available in Spanish (/es), Portuguese (/pt), French (/fr), German (/de), Japanese (/ja), Korean (/ko) and Simplified Chinese (/zh). ## The meme The meme comes from Charlie Wilson's NPR Tiny Desk Concert (published June 2023), where he sang The Gap Band's 1982 hit "Outstanding" (written by Raymond Calhoun; No. 1 on Billboard's Black Singles chart in 1983). In October 2026, AI edits that put college football coaches, then NFL players, friends and coworkers into the clip spread online. The recognizable moment is the lead singer turning to the camera, waving and bursting into a head-back laugh, followed by a sax solo. ## What it makes 1 to 3 photos of adults become a new about 15-second video of the desk concert. Approximate shots: 0–5 s wide shot of the band at the desk (keyboard player at red keys in front, two backing singers in headphones behind); 5–11 s close-up of the lead singer turning, waving and laughing; 11–15 s the saxophonist plays the closing solo, with the keyboard player's face at the corner. The video comes with the desk-concert song already in sync. ## Solo, Duo, Trio - Solo, 1 photo: photo 1 is the lead singer. - Duo, 2 photos: adds photo 2 as the sax player. - Trio, 3 photos: adds photo 3 as the keyboard player. Photo order is fixed and seats never swap. All three options cost one credit. Unfilled seats and the two backing singers are AI-generated musicians that can vary between videos; they are never made from another customer's photo. More than three people is not possible. ## What the user controls How many people and which photo goes in which seat. Each person's face, hairstyle, hair color, skin tone, build, clothing and accessories come from their photo. The stage, shots, camera, instruments, song and length are fixed; there is no prompt, background, song or seat-order choice. The background of each photo is not used. ## Photos One adult alone in each photo, face clearly visible and roughly toward the camera, ideally waist-up, even light, no heavy filters. JPG, PNG or WebP up to 10 MB each. A group photo can be cropped into one photo per person if each crop is sharp and larger than 300 px per side. Only the user's own photo or photos of adults who agreed to the video. No celebrities, politicians, other public figures, minors, pets or cartoons. The user confirms permission before checkout. ## Output About 15 seconds, vertical 9:16, 720p MP4 with sound and no watermark. The instructions ask the model to keep each person's face, hair, skin tone and build in their seat, including the head-back laugh and while the sax covers the mouth. Results vary: faces, hands and clothing details can change. Completion time is not guaranteed. ## Pricing USD one-time packs: 1 video $9.99; 3 videos $24.99; 10 videos $69.99. Same price for Solo, Duo and Trio. No subscription and no free personalized preview; finished Solo, Duo and Trio results are on the home page. Each new video uses one credit, even with the same photos. Unused credits do not expire and can be used with a different cast. ## Payment and private delivery No account and no app. The user picks Solo, Duo or Trio, uploads one photo per seat, confirms permission, enters an email and pays with Stripe Checkout. Payment confirmation starts generation on the server; closing the page does not cancel it. The private order page and delivery email link give playback and download. Keep the link confidential. Photos: up to 7 days in site storage; browser drafts: 24 hours. Finished videos: 30 days. Email links: 30 days from sending. Provider retention is separate. A confirmed generation failure returns that attempt's credit once; it is not an automatic cash refund. Refund requests are reviewed by support. ## Providers NanoAPI (genjutsu-1.0, motion control) processes the photos to generate the video. Cloudflare provides hosting, storage and email. Stripe processes payments. Plausible Analytics and Google Analytics measure public page visits and the purchase flow; photos, emails, tokens and private order URLs are not sent to analytics. ## Sharing Users download and post the MP4 themselves on TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts or elsewhere. The song belongs to its rights holders; a platform may mute or replace it, in which case users can add the trending sound in that app. Users should follow AI-content labeling rules, only post videos of people who agreed, and not present results as real footage or official NPR or Tiny Desk content.
